What you will learn
As humans, we are still heavily dependent on natural resources for our activities, work and survival. However, their massive use leads to exhaustion and has irreversible negative consequences for our climate and the well-being of our planet. To avoid disastrous consequences for our society, we must focus on a more sustainable future by drastically reducing our need for natural resources and moving towards a circular economy.
Our innovative approach that pays off
As more and more organizations worldwide (companies, NGOs, governments) focus on a transition to a sustainable future, there is a greater need for researchers, innovators and experts who can shape and drive the transition to a circular economy. In the Dutch labor market alone, the demand for sustainability professionals has doubled in recent years and is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.
As I reflect on my graduation over these past weeks, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and pride, emotions I owe entirely to the university community. The University fostered an environment where aspirations took root, challenges transformed into opportunities, and students like me could redefine themselves both personally and academically.
The lessons I’ve carried forward extend far beyond the classroom: resilience, curiosity, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I am profoundly proud to be an alumnus of SRH Haarlem and will strive to represent our institution with integrity as I step into this next chapter.
Thank you all for your unwavering support, whether through guidance, candid conversations, or even tolerating my tearful stress sessions and questionable Ikea “antiques.” You always took out a minute to engage with me, and that meant more than I can express.

To apply, you’ll need a relevant bachelor’s degree, proof of English proficiency, and a motivational letter. You’ll find the full admission details below.

Citizenship | EU/EAA (incl. Switzerland and Western Balkans)*

*can be paid either upfront (yearly) or in 4 instalments (monthly, surcharge 5%).
Citizenship | Non- EU/EAA
EUR 17300/year**
*Non-EU students are required to pay the whole amount of their first year's tuition fee before we apply for their VISA.
*An additional Visa application fee of EUR 500 (non-EU/EEA) is to be paid once at the start of the programme.
*Please note that our Master programme in Applied Sustainability is not approved for DUO funding.
Application process and deadlines
The application deadline for the September intake will be:
- June 15th, for Non-EU/EAA citizens and
- August 15th, for EU/EAA citizens.
The application deadline for the February intake will be:
- November 15th, for Non-EU/EAA citizens and
- January 15th, for EU/EAA citizens.
